Description from the owners

All-Natural Material

Our home is a Custom-built, handcrafted Western Red Cedar Log-home originally built in British Columbia and reassembled In Wadden’s Cove. A labour intensive build with high end materials and finishes throughout. The walls within are tongue-and-groove pine boards stained in varying shades, which gives this home character and soft texture.

The wood used is Western Red Cedar. The home features dark hardwood floors, natural shale stone accent wall applied on cement board which provides passive solar heating and cooling for the interior, which applies to the same principle to Red Western Cedar logs that provide cooling in the summer and heat retention in the winter.

We have an air exchanger, dual heat & A/C pump, electric radiators and wood burning fireplace as well as a concrete frost wall, Granite kitchen countertops, Travertine and Porcelain tiles in both bathrooms.

We have lovingly built this custom Log-home to a high standard. Designed for comfort, relaxation and the enjoyment of nature. Which has been achieved over an 8 year period which gave us a unique perspective on how to finish and decorate with the proper finishes and decor that gives this home a very unique look and feel. We have been told many times by guests or friends that our Log-home feels like a retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday living.

The first floor is an open concept living space for families to sit and share, cook and just enjoy each other’s company.

There are a set of patio doors off the living room onto a large patio, with a large covered porch where you can sit and watch the brilliant sunsets and abundance of wildlife.

The main level boasts a large bedroom, full bath, kitchen with granite countertops (the kitchen works for convenience of movement around the energy-efficient appliances like stainless steel-fridge, dishwasher and custom built hood range over the 4 burner gas range with centre flat top.)

The main floor also consists of a utility room with a washer and dryer, hot water tank, water-pump and electrical panel and large back entrance.

Everything is also up to code and done by professional tradesmen.

Leading up to the second floor is a custom handmade staircase made of the logs from our land.

There are 2 large bedrooms on the second floor:

The master is luxury itself! It has a full wall of windows that has a beautiful view of the water and nature, this room is serene.

The master also has a small kitchenette for those early morning coffee and tea’s to bring out onto the balcony off of the master.

Both bedrooms have large barn doors that just stand out with all of their character and are made of solid wood. The master and second bedroom both have skylights to allow you to have a rest and watch the clouds float by.

The second bedroom has such a feel of comfort, relaxation, and overall feel of luxury. It also has a French balcony to look out and soak up the sun and watch the pure joy of nature.

Also on the second floor is a full bath made for the best tranquility, clawfoot tub where you can read, have a glass of wine and stare up at the sky.

The upstairs has a long hallway with doors at each end to the outdoor/french balconies. The large hallway also has a mezzanine overlooking the main floor living room. The rails of the mezzanine are custom made using the wood from our land.

The landscaping is breathtaking, with 260 feet of water frontage, large boat ramp to private shore, and built in stairs from the house to the beach.

On the outside, attached to the log-home is a closed carport to safely store your vehicle.
